Another really nice touch is the rooftop bar. You can grab a drink and enjoy an amazing view over the entire city, which makes the experience feel relaxed and special at the same time. It’s the perfect spot to take in the skyline and just enjoy the moment.
There’s also the famous swing experience. It costs around €50 for two people, and while it’s definitely thrilling and gives you a great adrenaline rush, it’s more of a “do it once in your life” kind of thing. It’s fun and exciting for a couple of minutes, but paying around €25 per person for such a short ride feels a bit overpriced. Once you’ve done it once, doing it again doesn’t really add much.
One downside is that you’re not allowed to take photos or videos while you’re on the swing. At best, people watching from below can take pictures of you, which is a bit of a shame because it would be nice to capture the moment yourself.
Overall, A’DAM Lookout is a fantastic experience for the views and the atmosphere alone. The swing is cool to try once for the thrill, but the real highlight is simply being up there, enjoying the skyline of Amsterdam with a drink in hand.
We booked the swing and the VR rollercoaster, and both were brilliant. The swing was such a laugh, definitely gets the adrenaline going and the views from the tower are absolutely fantastic.
It’s a great “must-do” activity when you’re visiting. The history inside is also really interesting and well worth taking the time to read while you’re there.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun and a little different!
The swing was a good experience however it is very short so perhaps a little overpriced. The digital versions of the staged photographs you get taken being included in the price softened this a little though.
The view I imagine would be great over Amsterdam especially at sunset or in better weather conditions, unfortunately the city was shrouded in fog when we were there so had no view at all, of course this is not the fault of the venue or staff so that's not why it's 4* instead of 5*.
The VR rollercoaster was interesting, I wouldn't pay for it solely by itself and the member of staff operating it on the day clearly didn't want to be there and did not even speak to us when we showed him our tickets.
There was also a fire alarm test meaning we had to walk down a fire escape stairwell to get out, not the end of the world obviously but when the test was only supposed to last 20 minutes and was close to lasting 40 by the time we asked if we could use the stairs, not great.
All in all I would recommend, I may even visit again if I went back to Amsterdam hoping for better weather!
To access it does require climbing a few flights of very steep stairs so is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
The staff members were lovely and the bar area was reasonably priced for the location (~€8.80 for a large glass of Rosé (photo attached for reference)).
Perhaps later in the day may have been better.
I liked the music that was playing as we had a drink.
Shame we did not know about the audio guide you can download until we were leaving.
The staff should advise you really.
But its recommended
We got a combo, which included swing along with the VR experience. I really enjoyed my time on the open roof top. Minus the cold windy weather ;P
They also provide you a QR code where you can get all your photos for FREE.
Go wild and shoot some cool memories.
Interesting was, how they made an 15 sec elevator ride a small disco experience.
The views from A’DAM Tower were absolutely beautiful, offering a perfect panoramic look over Amsterdam. It wasn’t crowded when we visited, which made the experience even better. We also tried the swing — such a fun and thrilling experience! Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Amsterdam.
If you love a mix of thrill and stunning views of Amsterdam, this place is for you! The swing experience is definitely one you shouldn’t miss . It is both nerve-wracking and unforgettable. The souvenir shop downstairs also has a great selection of items, and the cashier was so friendly and cheerful. Highly recommended!
The only detail that could be improved was the menu, with few options and medium-high prices, but after all, it’s not really meant to be a gastronomic service!
Just keep in mind that there’s an entrance fee of around €18–€19 per person, and if you want to go on the famous swing at the top, that’s an extra €7.50.
The view is fantastic, the bar is great and the whole experience was a positive surprise.
However, above all, the staff were beyond amazing and would love to visit again!
Would probably suggest that sort of time, as it did get busy the later it got.
Overall, it’s worth visiting
We booked tickets on line, but only an hour earlier- as for the swing you need to select the exact (15min) time slot.
We tried the VR and swing experience. And was totally worth it.
Just make sure you go up on a sunny day, so you can completely enjoy the views as well…
Overall fun but once you are up there there is not a lot to do except the swing and VR experience. Good music too.
The Swing wasn’t for me even though I got a ticket 🤣. It looked way too scary! My friend went on alone! I did the virtual rollercoaster and that was too scary for me!!!
The lift up is a brilliant experience too.
We were planning on staying for cocktails after the swing but there were no seats at all so we left.
We were going to book the revolving restaurant for an evening meal but the negative reviews made us change our minds.
Great attraction though.
The view is spectacular — you can see the canals, cruise ships, and the city skyline. However, the swing ride itself is very brief, lasting only 1–2 minutes. They do take photos during the ride and offer a free low-quality version or a high-quality one for 25 euros. If you want better memories without paying that price, bring someone to take photos for you.
An amazing view from the rooftop, the swing was great with free digital video and pics. But i wish it was longer than 1 minute! They also take 2 free digital pics with a green screen for the group before going up which was fun to do. Their shop downstairs was also good with great selection of merchandise.
Lovely views on a beautiful day, big space and the seating area is plenty.
The swing being a separate price is a bit cheeky, but the staff are really kind.
I had a wonderful day! I booked online a tour and burger menu, I arrived at 1 pm and left and 9 pm so I enjoyed the city in morning and with evenings lights. The view is amazing., 360*all around Amsterdam.
The sky bar is so nuts . I had two tequila sunrises really well done 👍🏻, and also burger was good ! I will back for sure for spend another day off chilling with Amsterdam view. Really recommend!
The building has plenty to explore, from a small cinema and photo spots to restaurants, bars, and, of course, the swing—which was an unforgettable experience.
It’s a fantastic spot to spend a few hours
